Fire Risk Assessments

What is a Fire Risk Assessment?

A Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) is the process of identifying and evaluating fire hazards within a building or property. It provides essential guidance on managing and reducing fire risks, ultimately helping to prevent fires and protect lives in the event of an emergency.

For instance, an FRA may uncover an electrical fire hazard in a specific area. The assessor could then recommend installing an appropriate firefighting appliance, such as a CO2 fire extinguisher, along with staff training on its proper use. In the event of a fire, trained staff members can use the extinguisher to control the blaze in its early stages, minimizing risk to occupants and reducing property damage.

A Fire Risk Assessment can be likened to a vehicle MOT. Just as an MOT specialist inspects a car and advises on necessary safety improvements, an FRA provides a thorough evaluation of fire risks and recommendations for reducing them.

Our qualified and experienced Fire Risk Assessors will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your property and provide a clear, actionable report in accordance with PAS 79, the Publicly Available Specification for Fire Risk Assessments. This ensures our reports are both detailed and easy to understand.

Fire risk assessments are a legal requirement in the UK. If you are the responsible person for a building or property, you must carry out a fire risk assessment to identify and assess the fire hazards in your property and put in place measures to reduce the risk of fire.
